Only special steel grades are suitable for the specific cold forging moulding process. Steels, which in the annealed condition present a low yield strength and a high elongation at the lowest possible flow curve.
| Formable aluminium alloys.
Aluminium can be cold formed and has remarkable properties. That is why aluminium is seen as a good alternative in many areas. The almost 100% recyclability to an equivalent source material plays a very important part in conserving resources. The reduced weight provides energy savings, particularly in automobile production (aluminium is only 1/3 as heavy as steel).
